Applying for UCF Spring 2012 Basic BSN Program (Cocoa)

Just wanted to start a group where applicants for UCF's BSN program can go for moral support as well as information. As those who have applied or are planning on applying know, the deadline is July 1st. We shouldn't expect to hear anything back for atleast 6 weeks from what I heard. The suspense! Good luck everyone! :)

Anyone get a response yet from sending their reply to the acceptance e-mails? I sent both an e-mail reply and a fax, just in case, but I'm still feeling anxious.

Hi,

I'm new to allnurses forum but have been lurking for some time (: - I am currently on BOTH Daytona and Cocoa's waiting list and am hoping to hear SOMETHING soon! Has anyone else been accepted from the waiting lists yet?? Any word is greatly appreciated. Congrats to those of you who were already accepted!

Just to give everyone a heads up, I called the College of Nursing and they told me that the information packet (which is sent out as an email) would either be sent out Friday the 16th or Monday the 19th. As of this morning, I still have not received an email from them. I think they like to take their time on everything. So I guess we should be sure to check our email daily because I have heard that the email comes with a pretty good list of things to get done in a timely manner. :) Look forward to meeting some of you soon!

I haven't received mine yet either.

Still nothing yet for me either. I wonder what's taking so long?

Also, does anyone know what month we'll be graduating in yet? The only schedule example on the UCF site is for the traditional Fall program.

I could be wrong, but maybe it's summer. Has anyone received their email info packet? Also, does anyone know what the classes are for the first semester?

Kay answered it in the other thread for the similar Daytona program. She said August 2013. To answer your other question I haven't received my info packet e-mail either, nor have others. Just more waiting for us :)

I kind of went over in the other thread the things that will be in the info packet that you're all waiting on. In case you want to start getting your stuff together so you're not running around like a crazy person. :)

I just received my first strand of emails from UCF regarding the Nursing program. The sender's name is Teresa Youngman. I received three emails. The first email is titled "Welcome + Knights E-Mail". It was a generic email informing that we will receive more emails from her to help us prepare for the start of the Nursing program, plus the request to set up our Knights Email address. The second email titled "Housing" detailed housing. Finally, the third email is basically the same as the first titled "Welcome + Knights Email... Instuctions attached". This email instructs how to set up a Knight email address. Good luck everyone! :)

Teresa seems to be quite helpful with keeping us up-to-date. However, the mandatory 2-day nursing orientation sessions for Jan. are not official until she hears from Alton Austin. There is also a meet and greet potentially set for Dec. 14. I am just anxious about the book list. I know it's going to be super expensive and want to order them asap online.

I agree. I heard that the meet and greet was going to be during the first week of December. Who knows. I'm curious what I should expect to spend for the books. Right now, I'm saving money like crazy because I've heard some of the things we will need to get done before the start of the program can be kind of costly.
