Applying for UCF Spring 2012 Basic BSN Program (Cocoa)

Just wanted to start a group where applicants for UCF's BSN program can go for moral support as well as information. As those who have applied or are planning on applying know, the deadline is July 1st. We shouldn't expect to hear anything back for atleast 6 weeks from what I heard. The suspense! Good luck everyone! :)

Hi guys!

What GPA/TEAS scores have you had to get into the Cocoa program? I am trying to appreciate objectively my chances for next year. I have a GPA of 3.95 and a TEAS score of 84, and also 4.0 as GPA for the prerequisites. Do you think I have any chance of getting in next year or should I just abandon this thought:banghead:?

Thank you for your help.

That's pretty close to the stats I had, although I'm not sure which TEAS version you took. I know they say they only look at TEAS pass/fail rates but with applicant numbers soaring it would be foolish to assume they don't use them for weeding also.

I would definitely apply if I were you. I think you stand a good chance with those numbers. If you have time and want to boost your application you can always try to squeeze in a certificate program like phlebotomy, etc. I don't know if would really make a difference but it wouldn't hurt.

Yeah I would think you have a very good chance of getting in. I had a 87 teas on version 5 I believe. But my gpa was only 3.3 so I'm pretty sure you would get in :)

Dang I still did not get an email so I am assuming I did not get into the program seeing that everyone else has gotten acceptance letters. I have a 3.7 and a 80 on the TEAS. I do not think it was good enough. :(. Now I am waiting for other college replies.

Anyways Congrats to all of you who got accepted into the program. Good luck and don't give up.

Hmm that's strange you should have gotten an email by now.

I would call and double check!

Congratulations to you both for getting into this amazingly competitive program and thank you so much for giving me some hope :) I took version V of the TEAS test and I intend to retake it because, initially, I did not take this test seriously considering that I didn't stand any chance anyway :))

Many successes for you in the career path you chose :yeah::nurse:

@ Jem:) - I would certainly contact them on Tuesday, assuming the college is closed for the holiday on Monday. You should have received an email regardless of the response. Best of luck to you! Seriously though, don't hesitate to contact them. You never know if there was just some mistake. You don't want to lose your seat if there is one available for you. Good luck! Keep us posted! :)

Has anyone received the second email yet telling us what else we have to do?

I followed form from the UCF Daytona thread and decided to create a group on Facebook for those of us who were accepted into the program. You can search UCF Nursing Cocoa C/O 2013.

I look forward to seeing you there! :)

Congrats again!

I cant find the facebook page
