Applying to TX for endoresement...

Published

I am applying for endorsement to TX but was wondering how long it really takes. I do have a past criminal record...10 plus years ago (long before I was a nurse) and nothing that has given me any trouble getting licensed etc... they say it can take up to 4 months total. And that I can't get a temp. license. Anybody gone through this and have any time frame for me? Thanks!

I started the endorsement process in Dec 2011 I did revive a temporary license but I'm still waiting on my permanent license BON sent my file to the enforcement division in Feb 2012 so my 4 months from Feb 16 is slowly approaching... Hope this helps....Good luck with ur process hope it's quick

Oh! I didn't realize they would give a temp. license if it needed further review from the Enforcement Div. Good to know! Fingers crossed! How did they notify you of your temp. license? and how long did it take you to get it?

I got my temp license about 2 weeks after they got all my paper work....I didn't know until 2 months after having the license and moving across America that they was sending my file over to the enforcement division..So now one again I'm looking for a job and can't get unemployment because they say the reason I quit was personal but I couldn't work on an expired license......I hope everything work in your favor...

I wish you luck. My endorsement app is being sent to enforcement as we speak. I have a reprimand on my Oklahona license from 2006 for a minor med error and no criminal history. I've researched until I'm blue in the face over this and it seems like the average time frame for any decision to be made is around 6 to 8 months. And even then theres a possibility of stipulations and/or restrictions on the Texas license especially if there is s criminal history or prior legal issues on your background. Nothing more to do now except send TBON everything they ask for and be patient with the process. Easier said than done!!

Yikes! Good luck to you both! I'm not moving until I know something for sure but hopefully I'll at least get the temp license. How long is it good for?

It good for 4 months....

The temporary TX license is valid for 120 days.

I was reading the FAQ on the Texas BON site and came across this one

"I am an RN Undergraduate and hold a nursing license in another state. Can I endorse that nursing license to Texas?

No. You must have graduated from an approved nursing program to be eligible to apply for endorsement."

Can anyone clarify what this actually means? I am in an accredited ADN program in Florida and will graduate August 13th and then sit for the NCLEX, for my RN... I am I eligible for a Texas enforcement?

If u mean endorse your license to Texas yes u can endorse your Florida license to Texas with an ADN

I mean yes that is what I mean, but what is that question referring to on their FAQ section? That's what is confusing me

I saw that question but I don't know what it means....I have my ADN n I'm in the process of getting my license endorsed in TX....
