Applying to only one school

Published

I'm currently attending a community college and I applied to nursing program. The problem was that transfer programs near my area all have different pre-requisites. I am graduating this semester in May, and I only had enough courses taken to apply to one place - which is my ideal place. I have a 3.9 GPA but I'm still worried I won't get accepted. Last year, there were around 150 applicants, and they took 30 people. Should I be worried? I find out this week. The only thing that I think I'm worried about is not listing any community service. Thoughts?

The only thing that matters in this situation is the average accepted applicant's GPA, if GPA is the only thing being considered for admission. Otherwise, if there is a point system or something else, you need to find out what the average accepted applicant's status is and see if you are at/above/below this level.

I just found out that I've been accepted into the program!

Congratulations. I am in a similar situation you were in, 3.91 gpa applying to a school that got 120 applicants last year and 32 slots to accept. I have most of the points they list but they don't show their discretionary points. Applications close today, I'll hear if I made it to the interview process in a month or so. Hopefully I end up like you!

Congratulations :)

Congratulations! I am waiting for acceptance to nursing program but will not hear anything until June. In the meantime I am going to take a prerequisite needed for another program. The deadline is July 1st,2016. I am hoping I get in first school choice.

Congratulations on your acceptance! I have almost the same situation as yours and I'm feeling really worried as well. People keep recommending me to apply to other schools but it isn't as easy as that because of the prerequisites. In my community college, what they do is point system so at least I have that going for me :(
