have you started your application already? I have the same problem.

As long as you are registered in the philipines, you should be able to apply for registration in Canada. Its going to take a while tho to get assessed eligible. I sent my application on October 1 by FedEx and they received it on the 2nd and I'm still waiting:confused:

This thread has been moved to the International Forum per the little red banner at the top of any of the sub-forums that any questions specific to licensure and/or immigration be placed under the main heading of the International Forum.

Thanks for your understanding on this.

Just because one is registered in their home country or another country, does not guarantee that one will meet the requirements for the new country. Even nursing programs in the US do not necessarily meet the requirements of all of the 50 states.

There can be just enough of a difference in one or two hours in training and this can prevent someone from obtaining licensure.

Have you got any email from them ?

I received email and file reference number from them 1 week after submission.

Some nurses have to do a bridging program. A lot will depend on training and province.

Hi SilverDragon102 and Holyhell,

Usually how long does it take to get a work permit ?

Once you get eligibility from province and they give you a temp license you apply to local Canadian embassy and pay any fees (making sure you include family going with you like spouse and children) before they will process you you will need to have a medical. RGN1 recently went through the process and took approx 8 months from start to finish including applying to province.

You can look for a employer whilst in Canada but will have to return home to go through the processing. On a TWP or as a PR I think you will find it hard t take your mum. Usually look at spouse and children

You will not be able to take over your mother with you. You would have to petition for her, just as is done in the US. This usually requires that you are there for several years as well. She is not able to come over as your dependent, that is only for spouses and children under 21.

thank you very much!!!

i find it hard to leave my mom alone here in the philippines..(i'm an only child...) but still, i'll pursue my application....

thanks again!!!!
