how do you apply for prerequisites?

Hi there,

I 'm trying to figure out how to start the prerequisites at ivy tech indianapolis. I intend to do an Accelerated Nursing Program, hopefully at IUPUI. I didn't finish my school in USA, I'm not a native-speaker do I need TEOFL for prerequisites? ( I know I need TEOFL for nursing school, I just wouldn't want to hurry with that as the test is available only for 2 years and I'm not sure how long it will take me to get in the program). Any help in figuring all these out is much appreciate it. Thx!

I did my prereqs for IUPUI's accelerated BSN at Ivy Tech; I didn't have to do the accuplacer, b/c I already had a master's, but once I met with an advisor who waived the accuplacer, I was immediately able to register for classes. You may still be able to sign up for summer courses if you hurry. There were some summer courses offered over 8 weeks instead of the 10 for summer, and they started much later.

The last summer classes started June 9th. They usually allow a week late. So it is probably too late for summer. But honestly if you apply online it tells you everything you need to do. That is how I applied last summer. I actually applied and got everything done a week before classes started.

I've applied, but I decided to start only in spring, because I have a newborn, cries a lot and it would be harder to start now, I'm hoping she'll get better in a couple of months :)

I agree with you. I couldn't imagine starting school with a newborn!! I know how exhausted I was and I stayed at home. So just take your time. School will still be here when your baby gets a little older.
