Application Rejection

Published

Hi everyone;

Just curious to know if anyone had thier application for lisensing rejected?

If so did you appeal and have success?

Mine was rejected based on a lack of maternity theoretical hours (one more example to add to the conspiracy theory they're trying to educate us to a level where we can't get out of the UK!)

Any replies are greatly appreciated.....I'm sure you can appreciate how anxious and upset I am!!

It does happen and there are some threads on here about students who have realised this and trying to get the hours made up in uni before they leave or from RN's who have newly qualified. You can make the hours up with a nursing school in the US. I see that you are already living in the US, once you have made these hours up you should be ok.

Good luck

:yeahthat: to the conspiracy theory - I said that's what they were up to when they changed the course! Of course I'm sitting here smug because I trained the old way & have hours a plenty:lol2:

IT will cost you but there are ways to make up the hours - I think someone mentioned a Canadian school where you can do the theory on-line then travel for the practical but I can't remember where - you'll have to go digging among the threads - unless someone out there can remember???

They are already in the US so should be a case of getting in touch with local schools of nursing and enquire onto cost of making the hours up atleast they only have to make 1 set of hours up and not more

Hi there,

The Canadian college in question was called Langara college in Vancouver. You won't be able to do the theory online as it all has to be done in an approved school, not distance learning. The course's are $1500 (Canadian dollars) per branch of nursing you need extra hour's in.
