Application being actively considered

Hello, This is the status of my application. Does this mean they are contacting my references?

Our recruitment team has reviewed your application and you are being actively considered, along with other candidates, for the position. We will be in contact with you shortly should we wish to interview you. Unfortunately, we cannot accept phone calls about job opportunities.

I don't think most places check references until after the interview, but I think that this is a good sign. It probably means that they are comparing your resume with any others that are qualified. Much better than the standard rejection letter!!

I've got an application with a similar status right now...good vibes for both of us!

Ok, thanks for the reply. I just noticed that the job i am applying for has been re-posted for today until September. Do you think they will wait until September to reply to me? or does that mean not many replied and they will most likely want an interview?

So, what happened? I have the same application status message right now!

Hi, So it doesn't mean they are contacting your references (they do that once they have decided to hire you). I am pretty sure it means that they are reviewing all the potential candidates and sending the information to the unit managers. I got the job after waiting like 3 weeks.

Congratulations on getting the job :)
