Anyone else...

Anyone else wake up one day and say "I'm going to become a nurse!"

Well I did.

Makes me wonder how I will fair come that nursing school interview when they ask me about it because I'm sure that's not the answer they want to hear.

You're right, they definitely want to hear why you want to be one! I just really want to help people, but they like you to "explain" in the interview :)

Lol. There's nothing wrong with that, sometimes the greatest decisions you'll ever make in life will come to you out of the blue. I always knew I wanted to work in medicine, just never could figure out what. I went from wanting to be a Vet, to a Doctor, to a Dental Asst. I gave up medicine all together and was gearing up to pursue a career as a hair stylist. It wasn't until earlier this year when my BF suggested becoming a nurse, that I gained an interest in it. IDK why, it just never crossed my mind before.

Anyways, ever since then I've been researching like crazy and really asking myself am I sure I want to dive head first into this, and I can honestly say that I am. I really think I've found my calling. And this revelation never would've came to me if my BF didn't randomly suggest it.

I found out that I had a love for helping and caring for the ill when my grandmother became ill. I then decided to test the waters and I became a CNA. I found that I loved that, so the next logical step for me was to go back to school and become a nurse. Nursing is a fulfilling job that gives you the chance to show people compassion, empathy and caring when they are at their lowest. When I die, I will die feeling as if I made a difference and I helped other people out in this life.

I did. I couldn't decide what I wanted to do. I have a degree but didn't like my field. My husband said I'd be a good nurse and it clicked. This was in June, I apply to my BSN program next month to start in May. So not even a year after that moment I'll be starting school with only 16 months between myself and my nursing degree :)
