Anyone applying to UAB MSN program?

Hey just wondering if anyone is applying to UAB's MSN program. I'm applying to their FNP program, but still unsure as to whether or not i'm making the right decision about school choice. I'm specifically wondering about the time commitment. I work full-time and am wondering if I would still be able to keep my full-time job and do the distance learning format full-time as well. Also, cost is a major issue to me as my husband is racking up a gizzion dollars in dental school loans. Any info would be awesome.

I haven't heard anything either. Worry, worry, worry. Either way it goes, I need to know, because I'm getting sick just thinking about the possibility of not being chosen. Your chances are way better than mine I have a 3.0 gpa, only 413 on MAT, and 7 years nursing experience. But I still want the official word so I can make a plan for my life. Good luck to all of you.

So, I couldn't wait any more. I contacted someone at the school, and they said they would be mailing letters out next week and to be on the lookout. At least now I have a better idea when we will hear something. This waiting is so hard. I also asked about how many applicants they had and how many would be accepted, but he said they do not give out those numbers. I wonder why? Any thoughts?

Thanks for calling! I was about to do just that! I can't wait much longer!!!

I was just informed today that the acceptance letters will be mailed out on Friday 11/5/2010, which is the official deadline for notification.

I just spoke with them this a.m. and was told would know on or before 11/15/10. The wait is just about more than I can stand....doing a lot of praying fo patience:)

I really want this badly as well. I was told this a.m. that we would know on or before 11/15/10.

I like your time frame better:) I was told this a.m. that it would be on or before 11/15/10....leaving themselves a lot of room there. I originally submitted my application at the end of May right after I graduated from the BSN portion of their mobility program. Good luck on admission.

Good luck to you and everyone!!

I just can't believe we haven't heard anything, yet. I know we will soon be laughing (or crying) about this whole ideal, but I just wish it was over already. Surely they realize we are suffering in the uncertainty of not knowing. They must have considered the fact that those who will be accepted must get on with registering for next semester and those who are not must go on with their lives and initiate "Plan B" (or in my case "Plan C").

I am checking this blog 3-4 times daily just to see if one of you has received a letter, yet. I will definately post when I receive mine, until then...the anxiety continues.

Letters have definately been mailed. I received my REJECTION letter today. :( I still wish you guys the best of luck with this process. :)

Didn't get in either. Didn't realize how devastated I would be. This sucks. Going to try for Fall 2011, but don't want to wait that long. Going to start looking into other schools. Any suggestions? Good luck to the rest of you!

I'm sorry you guys got bad news...it makes me kind of scared because I had similar grades/MAT scores as you two had.

To Sillysally: Where do you live? I applied to four schools and have only heard back from one. The one I've heard back from and got accepted into was Georgia College and State University. If you live close to Macon, classes only meet once per week. It's my last choice because I live about one and a half hours away and don't want to drive that much.
