  1. Thank you so much. I appreciate your input!
  2. Thank you so much for sharing! Our stats are pretty similar. I do have 14 years of experience although the last twelve have been in the OR. I feel like this may hurt me a bit even though I don't think it should. I wonder how much emphasis they place on the essay portion? I felt pretty confident with mine at the time but the more I think about it, perhaps I could have worked harder on it. I just keep second guessing myself. I just want to make sure I give myself the best chance for my other applications. I contacted the school, by the way, to get feedback on my application. I have yet to hear back. I am hoping they will be able to offer some advice. Thanks again for responding, And best of luck to you!
  3. Congratulations! I really mean that! I'd be lying if I said I weren't a bit jealous. :) I wish you the best of luck. Was UAB the only place you applied? Do you mind if I ask what your background is, GPA, MAT (if applicable). I would like to know who I am up against, if you know what I mean. :) Which specialty are you going for? Thanks for any info. And again, Congrats!!!
  4. I am looking into Troy for FNP and would appreciate any and all feedback. There are several sites. Montgomery, Troy, Dothan. Is one better than the other? I wonder how competitive it is. Was just denied acceptance into UAB and starting to research my other options. Thanks for your help!
  5. Lkwashington: did you apply to UAB? Or where have you applied? I have been looking all day at other programs to which I can apply and getting frustrated. I feel like I am going to run into the same thing I did with UAB. Does anyone know if we can contact the school to discuss our application with someone so we can fund out where we fell short? Or is that a bad idea. I plan on reapplying. UAB was and still is my first choice. I just don't want to have to wait till next fall! Anyone know anything about Troy University?
  6. GLG78, thanks for the info. I am in Chattanooga and will look into it. Macon, I think, is about 3 hours. Do the classes meet on weekends? That would be doable for me.
  7. Didn't get in either. Didn't realize how devastated I would be. This sucks. Going to try for Fall 2011, but don't want to wait that long. Going to start looking into other schools. Any suggestions? Good luck to the rest of you!
  8. So, I couldn't wait any more. I contacted someone at the school, and they said they would be mailing letters out next week and to be on the lookout. At least now I have a better idea when we will hear something. This waiting is so hard. I also asked about how many applicants they had and how many would be accepted, but he said they do not give out those numbers. I wonder why? Any thoughts?
  9. I've heard nothing yet. With each day that passes, I loose a little hope. I just really thought we would have heard something by now. I'm running out of patience. I just want this so bad. As we all do, I'm sure!
  10. Annaiya, how many were accepted into your class? What specialty track are you in? Do you know how many applied for your semester? I can't seem to find any of this info anywhere. Thanks!
  11. I think the thing that is going to hurt me most is my GPA. It is only a 3.1. But I got a 450 (97th percentile) on the MAT. I have 14 years of nursing experience and I think my essay a and recs are pretty strong. It's just so hard to know what they are looking for. If I had known 14 hrs ago that my GPA was going to be so important I would have taken it more seriously. The wait is killing me! Keeping my fingers crossed for al of us!
  12. Congrats on USA! It is nice to have options. UAB is the first place I have applied and trying to narrow down my other options. Good luck to everyone!
  13. Thanks for responding. I didn't think UAB had rolling admissions. I wonder how your friend already found out? Maybe they notify people at different times depending on the specialty track? I am going for FNP. How about you? Sometimes I feel pretty confident about my chances of getting in. Then I hear that there was a record number of applicants for FNP and that " many well qualified applicants will not be admitted" . Kind of discouraging. Just trying to stay patient. Best of luck to you!
  14. Hi, lifes-a-beach, Noticed you tried to post something in response to my question. However, it just says error. Maybe you could try again. I would love to hear what you have to say! Thanks!
