Any problems using U of Phoenix RN BSN in California? How about Excelsior?

I graduated a two year school with an AAS and passed my RN licensing exam this summer. I've been working my first job in a New York City ER since Aug. '08. I want to do my RN BSN distance-learning mode but also want to make sure the degree will be accepted in California, where I plan to move in a year or two. I've heard the Cal. State Bd of Nursing doesn't accept Excelsior's program because of an absence of a clinical component. Anyone know how a BSN from U. of Phoenix is regarded by California employers, and for getting into graduate programs? Thanks.

The California has issue with the ADN, not the BSN, as far as I can know. You should contact the California BON for a definitive answer, but I'm pretty sure they're fine with the BSN. California will look at the original source of your RN for granting you licensure.

The only things that matters for licensure is your intial nursing license. As to graduate program, well it depends on the program to some extent. Some places don't care, some places do. I'd take the hard science component in a traditional way. I heard directly from a faculty member in one school that ther eis no way you can learn chemestry online. Predjudes abound everywere. (and so do people who can't spell or type)
