Anxious

I am starting a nursing program this August and am wondering if anyone has experienced doubts about whether they are up to the challenge of being a nurse. I am excited about starting the program, but also sometimes feel worried that I don't have what it takes to be a good nurse. Has anyone else experienced these feelings and if so, how did things work out.

There are about 3,000,000 nurses in the US. Probably 2,999,999 felt as you do. True story.

I think almost every nursing student feels this way before starting the program! It's healthy to have some level of doubt and anxiety. This means you care about being a safe nurse and making sound decisions. Once you start the program and get into the swing of things, I think you will feel much more confident and capable. With that being said, it's probably not the last time you'll doubt yourself so finding a healthy way to overcome that will be important throughout school and your career.
