Another 265 again...

Hello all!

I am writing today because in February I received 265 questions to find out I failed and the same results have just occurred again after another 265 yesterday...

I am just at a loss of words and just so confused. I felt much more relaxed this time going into the NCLEX-RN, took my time, took designated breaks. I am just not so sure what else to do because I have never had an issue like this before. I was an honors student in both college and grad school. I have pretty much exhausted all of my resources whether that be from books, tutoring, Kaplan.. pretty much the works.

If anyone has anything advice to share or other suggestions of options, my ears are open to listen. I just kind of feel like I have hit rock bottom and things are slowly falling apart, horrible horrible feeling!

I just want to pass this exam and move on with my life!

Xoxo

Alright! Good to know and good luck!!

@ buckeyegirl19...You will PASS the boards. I honestly believe from this point the more questions you do, the more practice and u will be in better shape. Read every single. rationale for worn or correct answers. $50 on NCSBN even if you have done it, u can do it again. Do the questions over and over. I failed with 265 the first time and passed with 75 thw second time. I used mainly NCSBN and Saunders...if you have PDA by La Charity great great resource. Remember you passed nursing school you know the content..you can and will pass this exam. You have to believe that!!! Goodluck

Is studying at least 2 hours a day beneficial for you? I know there are some people who cannot study that long but for me, 2 hours barely covers the surface when studying aha. My favorite method is studying for 50 minutes and then 10 minute break then go back into it. Or I spend the whole day studying and just take breaks as often as needed. I am not kidding you when I say I would study until I woke up until I was sprawled all over my books at night.

I know you are trying to mimic the NCLEX atmosphere but you need to physically and mentally want to work harder than the NCLEX atmosphere. Go take breaks and drink water because you ARE allowed to. If I didn't take any breaks I would be miserable.

Now, my main priority would be to focus on content and once you nailed that...QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS. Do at least 4000 questions to get that brain moving if you can. I really think that helped me. If you find yourself not knowing what something is once in a while, that is okay. Look it up and figure it out why they chose that answer. If you still find yourself asking what a disease is and management, you obviously don't know your content well enough to critically think for an answer.

Also, go with your gut. It is usually right but then go back and read the question and read the answer and see if that makes sense with that question. You tackle each question individually and you positively think you can pass the NCLEX.

You can do it! :D
