us news: 2007 nursing-anesthesia ranking.

*this ranking was computed in january of the year cited, based on data from a survey sent out in the fall of the previous year.

list 2003 rankings for comparison: nursing:anesthesia-

Looks like some schools are missing off of the rankings to me. Also, the rankings are relative really.

this is interesting. it has some misinformation regarding some of the schools.

*this ranking was computed in january of the year cited, based on data from a survey sent out in the fall of the previous year.

a survey sent to program directors and deans of those programs leaves a lot of room for subjectivity. since this data was computed in january 2007 gathered from a survey sent in the fall of 2006, it is also less than current. here is a list taken from the aana website in 2008 showing the accreditation periods granted to each program. these time frames were based on objective data which included site visits and a thorough review of student case numbers, graduation rates, pass rates, and overall program administration by the coa. i submit that this list (roughly in alphabetical order from the website) has a little more credibility. also note that the 3 and 4 year accreditation periods may be provisional, given to new schools awaiting their first formal accreditation cycle. in editing, i've added the usnwr rating to schools who received less than a ten year accreditation by the coa.

Has anyone heard anything about the CRNA program at Union Univeristy in Tennessee

Specializes in ICU,ER,PACU,PICC.

I am in the process of applying to CRNA school, however I still have a loan I need to pay off for my BSN ($12,000). I have everything thats required to get into a good anesthesia school. I just need to pay this loan off. I really want to start school January 2009 anyone with any suggestion.

Has anyone heard anything about the CRNA program at Union Univeristy in Tennessee

When I was doing my surgical rotation in med-surg the SRNA was from Union University. She seemed very competent, and she spent the entire surgery trying to convince me to become a CRNA. Anyway, she said the school is new (I think she is in the first graduating class), but she feels like she recieved a very thorough education, and she already has a job lined up with a very impressive sign-on bonus. It is full time, 3 years, and doesn't require the GRE. The competition in Memphis is UT. Apart from that, I don't know much else. I'm sure Union is a little expensive though, because it is private, but the tuition is the same for in-state and out-of-state. But it's probably going to be expensive no matter where you go, so...

Hope that helps!

To be honest, these rankings are meaningless. They are done with surveys sent to alum etc. There is no science to these ranking other than it being popularity contest. When you get out of school and pass your exam, very few people will give a damn from where you graduated. CRNA school is all about what YOU make of it.

Show me Certification exam pass rates and THEN I will care about a list.

Has anyone seen the US News and World Report, America's Best Graduate School rankings for Nurse Anesthesia - 2009?

Is the list out yet? Thanks in advance.
