ACCEPTED! :w00t:
I just got my notice today in the mail and I am SOOOOOO excited!!! I have been working towards this for eight (yes eight) years and was finally able to apply and got in!!!
I am proud to say that I will be attending TMCC and will be joining the ranks of nursing graduates for 2011!!
Lots to do but I am definitely up for the challenge.
If you have any suggestions for my preparation for school, please, PLEASE, feel free to post your words of wisdom!
I am so excited I don't think I can sleep! :hpygrp:
It feels so nice to finally be amongst the ranks of nursing students.

Congrats! When does your program start?
My orientation dates are January 14, 15, and 20th. Various workshops will be included during these dates.
Also, my letter stated that to NOT buy any textbooks before orientation but the books are posted on the bookstore website. I was hoping to buy the books early to try to save some money. What is everyones thoughts?

Congratulations!!!!!!! Prepare your self for one heck of a ride. Always remember how long and hard you worked towards getting in. It took me a long time as well to to finally get in too, and remembering that keeps me going when things get rough!!! Congrats again.

You will do a great job because it is obvious that you really want this. Congratulations!

I would get the ISBN on the books from the school then go search the web. I used to get textbooks from the internet - WAY better deal. Buy them used, but make sure there's the CD when it's called for...

Congrats!
Advice: never buy from the bookstore. You can almost always find them for cheaper on the web on Half, Amazon, even B&N sometimes, especially if you are a member (and they too sell used texts).
Try chegg.com if you want to rent books.

I sort of looked at the rental thing but never to seriously. What would be the benefit of renting a textbook when you are in a nursing program? I thought that most people hang on to their nursing textbooks until after graduation. The only benefit that I could see with this is if you can't really spare the initial outlay of cash. Just curious.
