Anatomy Online??

I took a hybrid course, which had both an on campus lab and online component. I really learned a lot form lab instructor, working in real time asking questions that just came to mind in the moment. I can not imagine solely learning this online without looking at the variations in cadavers. Also I think it prepares you for ick factor if you get squeimish. Also lab partners add alot too, tatally online can be isolated. I speak as a fellow busy working/mom/wife. Good luck!

Hi there! I'm new to the boards and love all of this useful information. I just signed up for anatomy online as well...west virginia u. Where are you taking your class? I haven't been to school in a long time so I'm hoping I can get back into the swing of things. I have 4 kids, but I don't work so I think I shouldn't have too much of a problem studying.

I just moved to sc and found a brand new nursing bsn program that is working with my previous degree in English. I only have the anatomy class and statistics to take this fall and then I can apply to the nursing program and start in the spring. We should stay in touch and maybe we can help each other study!

I know where you are coming from! I am a 33 yr old mother of 3! I would try to stay away from the online class if at all possible especially since you said you have been out of school for a while. A&P was difficult enough in the traditional class without trying to do everything on your own. You learn so much more from the instructor and other students! My instructor really explained everything so that we understood. If we had problems, he would go back over and explain a different way. Also, lab was awesome! I learned everything in lab and then carried that over to the class. The only classes I ever took online were the classes that were not related to math and science. That being said though, everyone learns differently. I just know that online A&P would never be a wise decision for me!

I would not take A&P online because it is such as vital class. How are you going to do labs??? I just graduated from Nursing school and I can tell you that A&P is going to be with you forever. If you plan to take it online, make sure the nursing school(s) that you are applying for will take it.

i'm taking it thru our local cc which is where the associate program i am interested in is located. i've checked into area bsn programs as well (in case i change my mind on the path once i get down to the wire) and this class also transfers for those...so i'm covered there.

i am not sure how the labs are set up...

i've decided to take the leap and take it online! with my current schedule of working full time and other family commitments (in addition to school schedules and normal family chaos...i also care for my elderly grandmother who lives with us) this seems to be the best fit for me right now.

I took it online, it was pretty easy. We had to take the lab separately. The lab was pretty easy except for memorizing all the bones.

Working full time and a mother of 4; I took all of my sciences online and loved every bit of it. I believe that A&P is like any class you take, what you put into it is what you get out of it. I learned a lot and enjoyed my classes; I took the labs online as well, and found it to be very helpful to the regular A&P class. I enjoyed the class; but it is time consuming just like a regular class room setting.

Mother of 3 here, I am taking A&P online right now. I have a B with just one lab test today (I'm stalling) and the final on Tuesday.

It is completely online and it has been hard but doable. I'm going to be going through an online RN program so I figure this is a prep for that. In my class I'm unable to see what individuals made but there is a graph of the class performance. The class average is around 70. There are some on each end of the spectrum, some tests the average was a low D.

Good luck. If you have discussion boards take advantage of them. My class did not use them very much, I felt like I was talking to myself through most of the semester because I would post and only get one or two responses.
