  1. Cingly, I wasn't passing so I withdrew from the classes. I had a 3.75 GPA in my general courses(science, math, etc.) I started the Nursing classes this past Jan. I could have stuck with it but I know my limits. I was going to flunk. I mean I know everyone says Nursing is hard, bur I wasn't expecting this. My mom is a director of Nursing. My two sisters are nurses but and all of them were quite shocked when I showed them the load that LBurg has. From what I was told, Baptist has smaller classroom size plus smaller clinical classes which means you can have a better one on one with the instructors when needed. That is my only option besides Northwest CC. The wait at Baptist and having to retake my science courses because they have expired bugs me but I really don't know what else to do. I want to be a Nurse. I just wish I didn't have to go back to square one.
  2. Has anybody gone from Loewenburg to Baptist College Of Health Science on here? I withdrew from Loewenburg this semester. I wasn't doing well at all. I had a 3.75 GPA but that didn't help me from being swallowed up by Loewenburg. I want to try Baptist now. My advisor told me I should look at that option.
  3. What I do is record lectures or record myself reciting the notes out loud. I load them onto my mp3 player and listen to them over and over. Listen to it in the car, while you are sitting in the tub. I use to listen to it while I played my xbox. It will sink in over time. This method has always worked for me.
  4. My first micro instructor was in her first year. She just begin teaching. She was previously employed as a microbiologist. She was terrible. I had a 3 hour lecture once a week and a 2 hour lab as well. All the A student were failing her class. The tests were horrid. I held a C but I dropped it. I couldn't go another 3 hour class because it was the most boring thing I have ever done in my life. I practically memorized each chapter and still couldn't get an A on the tests. I took it the next semester with another instructor and got a B.
  5. I took it online, it was pretty easy. We had to take the lab separately. The lab was pretty easy except for memorizing all the bones.
  6. A&P was easy for me but it depends on your instructor. I would go to ratemyprofessor and find a good teacher.
  7. I have about 64 hours and taken half of them online. I love online classes. They are easier for me and they saved me gas money.
  8. Listen to the "Last lecture" on youtube. It talks about the brick walls we face in life. It may help you. By the way my mom finished Nursing school with 3 screaming young kids and a husband. It can be done.
  9. I am going into nursing because their always we be a need for nurses. The money is decent for sure. There is also an opportunity to make more being a FNP or something similar. I know people who are FNPs that make over 100k.
  10. I applied once for Loewenberg Nursing once and got in with a 3.85 GPA.
  11. Baptist is a good school. If you are male that is good. They like male students. They have special male call days and all that. My school choices were down to the U of M nursing and Baptist. I decided on the U of M because It was a little closer and I wouldn't have to fool with taking the hobet.
  12. My mom worked there 20 years in the trauma unit. She loved it.
  13. Thank you for the response. You helped me a lot.
  14. I start pretty soon at loewenberg and I was just wasted sure what to expect from this school. I know they send you to clinicals day one. Do they through you to the wolves or do they take it easy on you? How touch is the school by the way? I have completed all my pre-reqs with a 4.0 but I hear that even the smarted students struggle here. One last thing, what about health assement lab. I heard that you have to remove clothes and let your partner examine you head to toe. With me being older and out of shape(Male) I was worried about that part. I doubt there will be many males in the class and I know it wouldn't be to much of a joy for the younger women to get stuck with me. If anyone can give me some info and removes these concerns that would be great. I guess am just second guessing myself before I take out a big loan.
