Alternate List

Published

I was just put on a alternate list for Pellissippi State in Knoxville, TN. Was anyone else an alternate before being selected to nursing school? I'm not sure what number I am and how many are on the waiting list.

Yes, I was on the 'alternate" list as well. I was waiting for an acceptance/denial letter and never rec'd anything. then I got a phone call that I was in...I had been an alternate but didnt know it. I would call your school and see how many alternates they typically choose...in my case it was just one.

I was an alternate and am now in the middle of med surge 2weeks till spring break and graduate July 30 good luck best wishes and yes call and see what number you are and how many they typically accept I have a thread that has my hardships and finally got called in may :saint:

Thanks so much! I plan to stop by advising tomorrow.

Wow!! we are both alternates!!! I just posted something similar as well!! I am so nervous!! Once you call and if you find anything out could you let me know as well? I was also wondering how many alternates they have in total, and how many actually get accepted each year...Good to know I'm not alone in this process!!

busylilnurse were you on pellissippi's alternate list as well?

Don't fret! I was on the alternate list until a week before my program started. It was very stressful to say the least. I got in though and I am going into the fifth week strong. If it's meant to be it will be. :)

I'll let you know! And I'm also glad im not the only one!

It's so frustrating! and confusing all in one!!

I agree. I wish they would be more specific about our rank and what our chances are of getting in.

I spoke to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) at Pellissippi and she said they didn't give out ranking numbers or the number of alternates because it discourages students. She did tell me that if I was an alternate, that it is highly likely that I will get into the program since so many students don't accept for different reasons. Speaking with her gave me hope lol. Let me know if you find out anything else. Have a great day!

Hey! Yes I just got off the phone with Bryan at their office and he basically told me the same thing. He couldn't tell me where on the list or even how many were on the list but he did say they pull QUITE A BIT from the alternate list each year due to people attending elsewhere, or not meeting the requirements such as background checks, financial aid, or just life in general. It gives us alternates hope but it still makes me nervous! I just wish they could tell us where we are on the list for our sanity! Lol
