Altering Scrubs?

I'm just wondering if scrubs can be altered after weight loss? Anyone ever done that? I want to stock up on them ( a huge sale is on right now!!) but at the same time, I am losing weight I was planning to buy a size or two smaller than what I am now. Or should I buy my current size and alter?

Thanks!

I've never had scrubs altered, but I would say to buy your current size. Its much easier to fit into something too big instead of something too small. I've had problems in the past when I purchased clothing that was the size I wanted to be instead of the size I actually was. Just my opinion.

Another thing to consider: often the cost of altering / tailoring scrubs may exceed their intrinsic value.

I have a sewing maching and the straight lines of basic scrubs are easy for me to alter.

If one doesn't sew, however, it probably would be a waste to pay someone to do it.

Cheaper to go to Walmart and buy new 12 dollar scrubs. ;)

i agree with mattsmom....if you're a sewer, it's a very simple alteration. if not, then it would not be worth it to have a tailor do it. i've even been considering making my own outfits since the pattern is probably a few easy pieces...

Just ordered three pieces from Allheart for $30 (includes shipping). They've got a $10 discount going right now.

Just to shorten pants -- no cuffs even -- costs about $12 here.
