Looking for career path options. Is is better to go LPN to RN? I would like to be a surgery tech. What are my options for nursing if I go that route?

There is not a route for surgery tech. It's just a surgery tech. It's not like say an EMT where many of the skills overlap.

I meant surgery tech to RN? I think it would probably be better to go LPN to RN

If you're looking for a nursing path, surgical tech would be nowhere in the equation. And if you become an LVN or RN, you'll be trained as a generalist and not guaranteed an OR position.

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.

Depends on what you want to do. We had a surg tech in our nursing class and she knew she wanted to be an OR nurse. If you know you want the OR, get a job as a surg tech while getting your RN.
