Advice/suggestions.....

Published

I will (hopefully) be getting my LPN license in May/June and would love to continue to get my RN and eventually my BSN .... due to my hectic schedule I think that online classes would be perfect, are there any GOOD online programs? What ones do you suggest? What are the downfalls to doing this online rather than in a classroom? Any other advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Also I live in Iowa and the waiting list to go from LPN to Rn is almost 2 years (I just don't want to wait that long....here most hospitals dont hire LPNs and thats where i want to work).

Thanks in advance!

I've read on here that Excelsior is a good program, BUT.......my personal feeling, and I may be flamed for this, is that one should not go through an online program to get an RN without some experience as an LVN. LVNs with experience have a good base to grow from, whereas one without experience and no onsite clinical advisor as an RN student.........

where do you live? some states don't accept an online program..

i would suggest you go to school for 8 more months to get your RN and then do an online to get your BSN

I'm in a similar position and I agree with TazziRN. Even more important to me is whether or not your BON will even accept an online degree.
