ADC 603 Steth

Published

Hi I just started LPN school, I bought an ADC 603 steth. Any opinions on this steth? Is it a good one/is it comparable to Littman???

Thank you for your help!:)

Well my a close friend of mine was just given a 601 by her medical school today. Her school is not one to skimp on anything, let alone a cardio scope, so I am sure it's good quality. We even compared her scope to my littman cardio III and other than the ear tips being a bit uncomfortable on the 601 they were closely matched. A great deal for sure, and since it's not a littman it's less likely to walk away (I am trying to convince her to trade me diaphram covers so my littman looks like an adc, but she isnt going for it and I even offered her a new set of ear tips).

Be happy knowing you got a decent scope. If it's good enough for Medical Students it should be fine for LPN students.

Thank you for the response:) Helped alot. I was going to look at a Littman cause I knew of their reputation. I plan on going for my RN then get a BSN later and was just curious as to what others use!

No Problem, the only reason I went with the Cardio III is that I have some hearing impairment and dont want that to get in the way of patient care, or learning, so I wanted the absolute best non-electric scope I could get. But now I know I am going to have to be a jerk when others need to borrow a scope (I am not one for excuses so I not going to sugar coat it at all, if anyone asks to use it I am just telling them no).

I used the 603 as my first scope and it is excellent! I loved mine! Still wish I had it around, but it had received a scratch on it and was dropped in a commode which later on resulted in rust. Still would have taken it any day over a Classic II because the 603 does not use the adjustable diaphragm. have a card 3 now, but still miss the trusty 603. Keep it but may just want to switch out ear tips with Littmann soft ear tips.
