Accreditation for CEUs

When doing RN CEUs online, what accreditation is needed? I thought they had to be accredited by the ANA. Is that true?

I found one site that stated it is accredited by the "American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation". I've never heard of this one.

I need to complete my CEUs by March. Advice, anyone?

If you're referring to what's required to meet license renewal CEUs then that seems to vary by state. I've worked in a state where your CEU's to maintain your license requirements had to come from an approved list of CEU providers. Another state allowed anything that pretty much anyone claims is a continuing credit hour, you could even just read on your own and keep track of how much time you spent reading articles related to nursing.

We have free access to CE Direct at work. I get a bunch through my professional organizations. ANA usually has a few. I've never heard about them having to be NLN. I haven't heard about anything NLN for years

Of course. The answer was so simple! I googled "RN CEUs in (my state)" and got the government approved list of accredited organizations for my state.

Thank you.

FWIW, the ANCC is the ANA. It's the credentialing organization that is owned and operated by the ANA.
