I have been trying to get into nursing school FOREVER now, and I am finally in! The problem is, I don't start until April, and it is all that I can think about! I know it sounds silly but all I think about is nursing school, I even dream about it. I think I am going to drive myself crazy before april! I really wish I could have started in January so that I can be over this stupid obsession. Anyone else experience the same thing?

I start in Jan and I am just like you. I CAN'T WAIT to get into orientation to just finally KNOW what to expect. I have been looking on websites, reading NCLEX questions and rationals, and practicing Med Math to pass the time.
Currently though, I am immersing myself in TV with the help of my new best friend DVR... LOL... I figure I won't have time once class actually begins.
Congrats on getting in tho!!

That's the same thing with me!! I've been applying for two years and finally got in, but don't start untill June!! I need to complete a physical, blood work, CPR with AED, and get student nurse malpractice insurance and it's all I can think about!! I am panicked (even though I have 6 months to do it) that I won't get it all done! How silly is that!? But I am in the same boat as you!!!

Oh yes! I don't start until late September and I've had to restrain myself from buying my clinicals uniform and the books. What I did do was buy a HESI review book to look through and learn the style of the test, since they carry so much weight with my program.
I'm also going to do an A&P review. I took it over the summer, but things are already fading because I'm not really using anything yet. My teacher was fantastic (I thought, everyone else seems to hate him because he was so in-depth and detailed) and I took good notes and he has his lecture outline online, so I'm going to use all of that and hopefully really cement the info. I might do some dosage calculation math too.
In addition to not starting until September, I also have a MONTH off from school between semesters, so there is a good possibility that I will go crazy.
I can't do all the physical/immunizations stuff until I get insurance again, and can't start my loan hunt until my FAFSA is filed.

I have a calendar up with the countdown until school starts. It started at 31 weeks (30.5.. 30.. etc) it's down to just over 14 weeks!!! I start at the end of March. Since I'm quitting work to go to nursing school, I keep wondering exactly what day I'm going to quit work, waiting to hear about the scheduled orientation date, waiting for that date to plan a vacation, cleaning and organizing the apartment, wondering if I'll have to buy a car or if I can scrape by without one, checking the calendar to see that there's just over 3 months till classes start!
Mostly, I think I obsess. I have an NCLEX book that I read when I get around to it. I just had my bf order a math calculations book. So, I study, obsess, wonder how I'm going to get everything at work squared away for me to leave. I've been there 6 years, and have a lot of skills and knowledge that I would like to pass on to my replacment(S!).
But, still 14 weeks of waiting (I think I understand how you feel). Soon, I should start practicing "waking up" in the morning. I'm pretty sure my current work schedule of when I roll in (sometime after 10am) isn't going to quite cut it for classes/clinical and then "real work". I'm imagining what shift I'd like to work (I don't think they have a 10a-7p shift, so I think I'd lean towards graveyards). Soon, though, I should sort the waking thing. Since I'm not the only person in bed, I'd like to figure out a way to do it either WITH my boyfriend, or by not disturbing him (much). The idea of being AT clinicals at 6:30 or so disturbs me.

I start in January, and I am using this time (albeit not as long a gap as you have to endure) to clean and get rid of stuff. Oh, and cook...and crochet and watch movies and read mystery novels and review A&P...though I haven't started the A&P review yet. My brain is still frazzled from last semester! I hope it flies by for you!
Thanks! I have to relocate from California to Colorado, so at least I have to find somewhere to live, pack and move. That will definitely take my mind off it a little!
