i will be applying for the summer program for summer '10. how difficult do you find it to get in?
Deadline for the spring is the 15th so haven't heard back yet. But you should have above a 3.0 in your prereqs and in your previous degree. Write a good essay also your prereq grades and essay are worth the most points when it comes to admission. I believe around a 100 apply for the 30 or so spots.

This is my third time applying. And I have A's in all my prereq's and a 3.7 gpa. Sigh...wish it wasn't so hard to get into! Good luck to you all!
wow that's a little upsetting!i only have about a 3.5 and i already have one B in the pre-req's =( good luck to you keep us updated!
I looked back and I think I may have gotten 2 B's? I'm not sure...I have taken way too many college classes! =) Maybe my essay wasn't as good as the rest. I wouldn't worry about it. They can't only be getting people with 4.0's and all A's!

i just attended the info session for KSU Accelerated and the instructor said they had a record low number of applicants for Spring and "this was the time to apply". i'm not applying for Spring but everything he said made it sound like a great time to do it! they attributed it to the economy rebounding, not as many people are thinking of career changes and are trying out their degree after graduating.
Good Luck!
thats good news to hear, thanks for the info

I just applied for Kent's Accelerated BSN for spring '10 too! I'm nervous! My GPA is only 3.3 and my pre-req grades aren't that good either! My undergraduate degree is in Nutrition and Dietetics, so I took all the pre-req courses my freshman/sophmore year. I could do way better now I'm sure but, oh well it's worth a shot. I'm hoping my essay and volunteer/work experience will outweigh my GPA . It will be a miracle if they accept me. Haha. But if not, it looks like I will be retaiking classes this spring:( . Good luck to everyone!
Let us know when you hear from Kent! I think they either mail or email acceptance/rejection notices soon. Good luck everyone!

I have also applied for Kent State's accelerated nursing program for Spring. I applied for the fall semester but didn't have my prereqs done. I truly hope to get in this time around. Good Luck everyone!
Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back? A month?
