Accelerated BSN programs?

I have a BA degree and am looking for a decent accelerated BSN program that isn't astronomical in price (I'd be open to MSN programs as well). I'm willing to go to any location. The prerequisites I will have completed by this December are A&P I and II, General Biology, General Chemistry, Microbiology, Precalculus, and Lifespan Psychology. My prerequisite GPA is 3.9.

The problems I've run into are that a lot of programs outside of Washington state have some prerequisites that aren't offered at the schools around here, and also I'm not sure which programs are decent. I'm not looking to go to Yale, I just want to find a decent program that won't put me into astronomical debt.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Do any of your state schools offer a program? I'm a Mass resident and I know Umass's ABSN program is like a fifth of the cost of everywhere else I'm applying.

The University of Washington ABSN program is fairly expensive, and as far as I can tell being a Washington resident doesn't give me any tuition reduction. Also, I went to their program information meeting, and one needs at least 100 hours of volunteer or work hours in the profession and in my current volunteer position at a hospital I only have about 60 hours.

Florida atlantic isnt crazy expensive for residents. It is $199. For in state but $718 a credit out of state. 60 credit hours. Huge difference in cost....In state out of state makes a huge difference. It is only 15 months.

Would cost the same as going to University of Miami ASBN is 40,000 12 months

Mchel210. Thank you for the info! Both of those programs interest me. Is one program considered better than the other? 15 months does appeal to me a bit more than 12 months (more time to learn stuff).

I would love to have said I graduated from "UM" BUT...it really doesnt matter...and isnt worth the extra money and longer drive for me. I have my first BSW from Fau AND would love to get my second there as well. They seem very genuine and have a great philosophy for teaching. FAU is about building "caring" nurses. That is there focus. This is the first year they switched to 15 months. They said it was too much last year for the students so decided to stretch it out a bit.

FAU requires Nutrition and I believe UM does as well. But you can apply as long as you are enrolled in that class for winter.

UTA in Arlington has an accelerated 15 months course

I looked into the accelerated, largely online program in Osh Kosh WI. It's spendy though. I think I will still apply to it along with other schools.

Congrats on so successfully completing all your prereqs! I also recommend that you look at state school programs. In CT the most reasonably priced accelerated BSN programs are at state schools: UCONN (MEIN) and SCSU (ACE). 12 months for up to $25K. Private schools in CT/NY are double or triple that and they would be the first to admit that there is not much difference between the programs.
