I need abbreviations for common nursing terms, and Fluids or meds. abbreviations. I find myself not understanding shift report when they say some abbreviated words or meds.
Does anyone know of any websites that can help?

Shoot I used to have a site bookmarked and now I can not find it. I can try to help you if you could give me some examples. There are lots of abbreviations but you have to make sure you are using ones that are JCHAO aproved.
Here are a couple sites I found. However, not everything on here is approved like qd should no longer be used it should be written out every day. Hope these help

Keep in mind too that every facility has its own policies on what abbreviations they accept. It is confusing though.....

That's true because I went at a facility and they are still using qd and so forth, just be careful

People also have their own abbreviations - so if you don't understand something in report. STOP the reporting RN and ask for clarification. I've done it and sometimes its an abbreviation I know, my mind just isn't clicking...
Always stop report if you don't understand... Always.
