A&P during nursing program?!?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Is anyone, or has anyone, taken A&P while IN the nursing program? At my school it is a co req, and I am just wondering if it can be done. If you have done it, or are doing it, I would love to hear your experience.

I am "planning" to get into the fall 07 program without A&P, but obviously if I don't get in, I will have a year to get them out of the way. Just wondered if it is something I should even try and tackle. TIA for any responses.

That's what I'll be doing next year.

I'd sure git 'r done if you have the opportunity. Whatever you can offload from nursing, offload.

If it's something that they'll let you do while in the program I think it can be done. With it being a co-req I'm sure lots of people in the program do it while in. However, I do think that AP is a foundation for lots of things you'll do in nursing, they probably won't ask you to name all the muscles of the leg, but the phisiology part of it would probably help alot. If you have the opportunity to do it before, then go for it.

Is it possible to take it as a summer class before you start school? That way you can just concentrate on this one class. It sure is tough but you will learn a lot! :)

I'm taking A&P I this semester and A&P II in the summer. I'll be starting Nursing I in the fall. So far I'm averaging a 95 in lect. and a 90 in lab.

My sister got her BSN in '02 took A&P with the nursing. She suggested that I split them up if possible. She said it is doable but extremely tough. I know if I were taking nursing now I would not be doing so well.

No, A&P I is only offered in the fall and A&P II is only offered in the spring, so summer is not an option. Not to mention, I would think it would be a hard class to cram into such a short sememster. Well, I have an appointment with my advisor tomorrow, so hopefully she will shed some light for me. I "think" I can do it, however, this is more of something I want to "know" before I plunge full force ahead. KWIM?!? Anyways, thanks so much for the replies.
