I have light cp and am having problems with sterile field. I don't want to give up because of this but am not sure what to do. My instructor doesn't give me enough time and I was wondering if there was any kind of help for me. please PM me.

Well, I know the answer for anyone who isn't facing the challenges you are is:

Practice, practice, practice.

It can't hurt. The other thing I would do is ask your instructor for an appointment or in some way let her know, one on one, the difficulties you are having.

One other tip: Be careful about posting your email address on a public forum. It opens you up, at the very least, to getting spam bombed. This message board has a private message feature that's really handy.

Is there an office on your campus that deals specifically with accomodations for students with disabilities?

It is repeatedly stressed in our nursing program that if we need help (such as more time for assignments) we should contact the director of that department to help facilitate arrangements.

I have problems with sterile field myself, but I don't have any valid reasons for it - I'm just not very tactile (and still learning loads by the day)! :)

It is my understanding that the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requires "reasonable accommodation" both from schools and employers.
