AF April 2011 Board Selections

Hi-

I wanted to start a thread for the selected and alternates from the 04/2011 AF NTP Board. I was selected as #1 alternate for OB. I really hope a slot will open! Any other alternate's out there? I've seen a couple of post from some of the selected and it looks like they all got Oct. COT dates. Congrats!:D

This is a good idea, I'd like to get to know a few people I will meet at COT in October! So as I mentioned, my COT date is Oct 17th, then to Cincinnati for NTP and I will be stationed at Lackland! :yeah: I graduated in December with my BSN and have been waiting to hear back from AF before I decided on anything else, so I celebrated big time Friday!

I also have a COT date of 17 Oct with Cinicnnati for NTP and Lackland as my assignment.

Hi. I also have a projected COT date of Oct 17. I think my assignment will be Maxwell, same place as COT, but nothing official yet.

Congrats all! I just graduated in December and passed my boards in Feb. I was the only one chosen from Hawaii. I am also scheduled for Oct. 17 at Maxwell Air Force base in Alabama, and then Nurse Transition Program is from Nov. 28-Feb. 15 in Cincinnati, Ohio. We will be stationed in Lackland Air Force base, TX.

It is confusing, I thought NTP is only 9 weeks. Why does it seem much longer? Anyone else know anything about Lackland? I am trying to get things planned, and my wife is also concerned about our children and having to leave school and transfer, housing, etc. Anyone got any links, resources, etc.?

Hey Superman,

Congrats! I am also from Hawaii but I'm in a different situation. I'm supposed to go to COT in August but we'll see if that'll happen. PM me if you can as I am curious to know how your process was.

Hi, sorry I don't know how to do that.

Congrats to everyone selected for NTP! :yeah: I was selected as an alternate for med-surg, although I don't know my specific number...my recruiter just said I was in the top 10. She also felt the alternates would get picked up, that it was more a matter of when then if...is that consistent with what you all have been hearing, or is that just false reassurance? My husband is active-duty AF and has orders, so the suspense is killing us! We were hoping to get a definitive answer/joint assignment, but everything is indefinitely up in the air . If anyone has any additional info or clarification on the true specifics of alternate status, please fill me in. Thanks!

Congrats to everyone! I am an alternate but sincerely hope to be apart of this wonderful service. Intergrity first. Service before self. Excellence in all we do.

It sounds like you have a really good chance of getting picked up :).
