Question- what is the non-fasting glucose reading that indicates diabetes?

I believe it used to be 140, but I can't remember offhand what it is now-

Does anyone know the non-fasting blood glucose number which is considered definitive for diabetes?

Thanks!

tnbutterfly,

The numbers you gave are for FASTING glucose - OP asked about Non-Fasting

Trigger level for non-fasting is more than one random test >200

Sorry.....my eyes are tired and I misread the post. You are correct.

Above 200 via lab draw at any two points in time with symptoms.

hmmm i was under the impression that over 150 had the potential to interfer with cardiac electrical activity

Yep, I neglected to add the "with symptoms" qualifier......:selfbonk:

We were told non fasting 126

Then we're screwed if we've just eaten in the last two hours. :)

OOPs stand corrected, over 126 if fasting. 200 for non fasting. Thanks!

Sorry, I missed that the question had already been answered when I posted.
