Hiring Freezes?

Featured Replies

I currently work as a student nurse tech at Palmetto Health Richland and they are hiring. The question is, what area of nursing are you interested in?? I know that there are currently no positions for RN's in the Children's Hospital. They took them all down since there were so many applicants.

Hey what are the new graduate benefits and starting salary at Palmetto Health?

Thanks

Can anyone tell me if these hiring freezes have affected the hiring of LPNs in this area?

there isnt many benefits: 18.90 is the base pay plus 1.00 if you have a BSN plus differentials for nights and weekends and weekend nights. there's tuition and nclex reimbursement as well

Kingkn:

Is Palmetto Health currently hiring nurse techs? I currently work at LexMed and the drive sucks. I currently work 7 pm to 7 am on Fri, Sat, and Sun. Do you know if they currently offer this shift for techs? Do you have the name of an HR Rep I can send my resume directly to? I am currently in clinicals at Midlands Tech. Would you mind telling me their starting tech salary?

Thanks.

I work nights as well. Starting pay for a student nurse tech is 9.30. Do you work f/t, p/t, prn? There are available nurse tech positions. I recommend going on the site and seeing what is available (www.palmettohealth.org). The nurse recruiter for palmetto health richland is Patty Heady ([email protected]) and the nurse recruiter for palmetto health baptist is Katherine Daniel ([email protected]). I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, kingkn. I currently work 36 hrs which is considered full time. Do you know if they offer weekend only shifts for techs?

Can you tell me what the difference is between a nurse tech and a patient care tech at Palmetto Health Richland?

Thaniks.

there's not a "weekend option" for techs but you make your own schedule as long as you do the required hours. if your manager knows you're in school during the week and can only work the weekends then the weekends you will get.... they are very willing to work with you at palmetto

there are weekend options! sorry for the misinformation.

in my opinion... they're the same... there are differences in pay and experience needed for each which all depends on the department's needs... i suggest you refer to the job description and requirements for open positions and pick the one thats best for you.

Thanks for the info.

I am actually looking on the website now for Richland and I don't see any weekend options offered. I'll see what I can find out.

it would say weekend work under the schedule slot rather than weekend option
