I just came home from taking boards and feel sick. Most people who pass only go to 100. I went to 170 questions. Has anyone else who passed went to 170 and vice versa. Please reply because I am not feeling very well right now.

Man I'm sorry, and I can understand your stress, I'd be doing flip flops with my stomach too, but when I took Valley they told us that a certain percentage of people do go the distance to 170 and doesn't mean they failed. I know it's very easy for me to say this right now, but try to breathe, it's over and you won't know for a couple of weeks, so there's not much you can do right now but give yourself an ulcer. You still could have passed, so try not to waste too much energy beating yourself up over something you don't know about yet.

You probably did just fine. I had some friends who did the boards and got the whole 265. They passed. I only got 75 and passes. You have to think positive.

Nearly everyone feels awful after taking boards, no matter what number of questions they took. I know it's easy for me to say, but try to relax and do something you enjoy while you wait for results. GL!

I had 76 questions and cried afterwards. I passed.

My friend had to take all the questions and she passed.

I think you guys are talking about the RN boards? The original poster is referring to the CRNA board exam which is 170 questions max, and minimum of 100

I have heard of people taking all 170 and passing, and I have heard of people taking 100 and failing. The computer will shut off when you either prove your competence or prove your incompetence. This can happen at any point after 100 questions. Unfortunately, a certain percentage of people take all 170 questions. This is a method of statistical control inherent in the computer adaptive testing system. I would not stress over it right now, since there is nothing you can do to change the result. Enjoy the next few weeks!

All that being said, and my pep talk aside, I take my board exam in about 6 weeks and if I were in your shoes I would be popping nitro tabs. :-) I am sure it will all turn out ok for you in the end. The pass statistics for that exam are actually pretty high.

I personally know of people who passed at 170 and others that failed at 100. Quit trying to second guess yourself. Whats done is done. After all, if you did not pass, get up on that horse and ride it again. I know of which I speak. I failed the first time at 170, my friend passed at 170 and I passed the second time at 100. Even then I did not feel confident of passing. I wanted the computer to give me more questions, LOL! I was sure I failed the second time. The advantage of taking the exam the second time, is that I was able to read the questions more objectively, instead of getting caught up in the extraneous. Good luck, don't beat yourself up and get out your favorite text book and peruse through it, just in case.

If you look at the stats put out by the Cert Council, about 95% who take 100 questions pass, and 5% fail (1543 passed and 77 failed). Of those who took 170 questions, 57% passed (89 passed and 68 failed) and those between 100 and 170, 67% passed (115 passed and 57 failed).

Well, as bad as I felt, even tho it shut off at 100, I passed.

I take boards in January. Did you take Valley and do you think it was right on? Did you use Prodigy software? If so, was it helpful? I took Valley and I also have the prodigy questions.

I studied Valley, and used Morgan and Mikail for further clarification. I've heard c/o that Valley did not prep as well as we were told it would, but I don't know how else all the material would be in one place. I thought it helped. I am not familiar w/Prodigy software. Good luck
