Does anyone know anything about Tenet Healthcare???I know they own quite a few hospitals in So. Florida, and I would like to know other RN's experiences working for them>good, bad or otherwise - thanks everyone:D

I was in S. FL. recently because I am moving there soon. Are you in the West Palm Beach area by chance? All I know is that Tenet is "for profit". A friend of mine worked for a Tenet facility and didn't have a problem.

I think it depends on wether they remove the previous management... there are a bunch of Tenet owned hopitals in the Jersey/Pennsy area. The one closest to me... I had the left lower lobe of my lung removed in the Tenet hosp near me... The staff looked overworked as most of us are ... they knew I was a nurse and I wound up doing diabetic teaching to my roommate for them cause they asked... so I also think it depends on the size of the facillity as well... overall haven't heard anything bad about the mental health facillities they own ... pay is regionalized so I don't know about the south.

I just started working for Tenet Regional Pool in Louisiana. I have no complaints with the pool. However, I almost HAD to go work for them. I used to work with an agency, but everytime I was scheduled to work in one of Tenet's hospitals with the agency, I would get cancelled. In my opinion, Tenet is purposely doing this so that a nurse will leave her/his agency and join their pool. They end up paying out less money for staffing that way. Well, it's working. A nurse has to pay the bills, right? Anyway, I make the same as I did with my agency (will receive $2 more starting in November) and I get the benefits of working mainly in one hospital, and not having to pay for my own TB tests, flu shots, and CPR courses like I did with my agency. Tenet Regional Pool is starting to branch out to other states though, so if you currently work for an agency, notice yourself getting cancelled more, and a Tenet Regional Pool has come to your area, your cancellations are happening with a purpose.

I worked for Tenet in S. FL 6 yrs ago. They are definately a "for profit" company, staff is skeleton and they do use a lot of travelers. When Tenet took over the hospital I worked for, benefits were cut, not too many happy nurses there.
