Considering a move to Nashville

I am an ER nurse with 2 years experience and I am considering moving to Nashville. What is the pay like? Which hospitals should I apply to or avoid? What's the cost of living like? Any answers will help! =)

I heard Vanderbilt has a high turnover rate, I would work in a smaller hospital.

Hi all, I just relocated to Tennessee and took the NCLEX. Any has any idea how long it takes to get the results/license

I just contacted the Board for a status on my license/permit here. I completed the application and fingerprinting about 2 weeks ago and I was told that they usually respond in 4 weeks. I'm not crazy about the area so far but hopefully that will change once I am working, in the meantime I walk my dog A LOT!!!!!!!!!

Everbody I know that works with Vandy loves it.

Cost of living is pretty low, though it depends on where you live. With the Belle Meade-iness spreading out and the widespread gentrification going on, housing prices are going up like mad. To have what might be considered a decent house in Nashville or the closest burbs is pretty unlikely on a nurses salary, and impossible in green hills or belle meade. A condo would be doable. Going out drinking and whatnot is cheap by New York or similar standards.

Thank you chuckd, I got your reply. Can you recommend any good nursing homes that I can start with
