... when you feel like a "real" nurse? (Don't you hate it when people say that?!?!)

Had a student slice his finger wide open, no one available to pick him up and only school clinic supplies to work with. Stopped the bleeding, cleaned it up, used butterflies and suture tape, dressed it, and sent him home with supplies to continue caring for it. Sometimes you need a good dressing to remind you that days aren't always filled with head checks and stomach aches :) :)

I got to draw up and administer insulin because my 2nd grader's pump malfunctioned and Dad (who would normally give the insulin) was nearly 45 minutes away. The kid was pretty nervous about it but after I was done he gave me this astonished look and said, "I didn't even feel it!!!"

YES! I got so excited one day when a teacher asked if I could give her her depo shot! It was ridiculous how excited I was

I love it when I get to do that stuff!
