Would you all consider LPN programs to be worth it? I'm considering this and then bridging into an LPN to RN program later on.... have any of you done this?

I mean... LPN programs are only worth it if you plan on working in a nursing home...

It really depends on your situation. If you're a single mom who needs to work while in school to pay the bills, etc, then maybe an LPN would be a good fit because then you could work in the field faster, save up some money, and then do an RN program. But barring a situation like that, I'd say just go for your RN.

It depends on your circumstances. Can you afford to go for your RN? Is your area underserved...LPNs are still utilized in all aspects of healthcare? As Nimrodel wrote, sometimes step-laddering is the way to achieve one's final goal without the initial outlay of time and money, as long as LPNs are being hired in your area and with a salary that can support your return to school if that is the route you need to take. IN my area, LPNs are still utilized in various settings...not just nursing homes which allows many to work while they advance their education later. Best of luck in whichever route you take!

If you can get into a BSN or ADN program, do so. Your career options are so much more open with RN behind your name versus LVN or LPN.
