As I have been looking at some universitys nursing programs some of them have prerequisites that I do not have from CC. Some even say specifically to have an AA in nursing.

My AA is only in university studies and general studies with an emphasis in science.

In most cases, you need to have a bachelors degree in another area to apply for an accelerated BSN, or be a graduate of a diploma/ADN/ASN program (RN).

Your degree doesn't sound like it meets the requirement for the programs that offer an accelerated BSN to applicants with an AA in nursing.

As I have been researching, that is what it sounds like.

Then I am curious which types of nursing programs I should be looking to apply for. I thought it would be RN to BSN, but it got me thinking dont I need my RN first.

I know I will be able to take the TEAS test sometime after May, but then I am not too sure.

I have a school counselor I can email, but I figured I would post on here to see if anyone else had any feed back.

You need to look for an Associate's degree in Nursing or a Traditional entry-level BSN program. An Accelerated BSN (ABSN or Second-degree BSN) are for people that already have a BS in a non-nursing field. The RN-BSN programs are for ASN nurses that want their BSN.

Again, you usually need a bachelor's degree for an ABSN. With your AA being in another field than nursing, you should look at a BSN program, especially two year ones where you'd start as a junior. Usually you can take those a CC. If there are some extra weird classes, you can take them as a nonmatriculated student at a 4-year college (like pathophysiology). But, you should be able to take your prereqs at CC for most programs. And an ADN would be possible, I imagine.
