Young nurse work problem

I've currently been an RN for 10 months working 2nd shift at a nursing home. I absolutely love my job. The first shift nurse keeps blaming me for small mistakes, because she cannot admit when she made the mistake herself. Lately, she will text me on her days off to tell me what I did wrong the previous evening. If I didn't put an order in the way that she prefers the order to be put in or just ridicule me anyway she can. I know she starts to take things out on me when her marriage is bad . She is starting to become a bully. Thankfully, after next week I will be moving to a different department on 3rd shift, because I can no longer take it. I've talked to the DON multiple times, but nothing has changed. I'm looking forward to third shift.

@grace567 I'm glad you have made the choice to change your situation. It sounds like you did the right thing by focusing on things you are able to do rather than wishing others would change. There will be colleagues like the one you described wherever you go, and it's up to us individuals to decide how we respond. Enjoy your new shift!

Save the texts. Wait it out. Enjoy the change!

Have you spoken directly to her? Because that is the most professional way to begin the process of addressing this issue. If not, and you went to the DON first, you should take a step back and talk to HER. Can I recommend the book "Crucial Conversations" to you as well? It is really helpful in terms of professional communication and boundary setting.
