Yikes!! Lice!!!

Hi fellow school nurses. I was wondering how you deal with hysterical teachers/parents when it is found out there is student with lice in your school. Our entire district (elementary level at least) are in an uproar. I think they would like the names of students published, their heads shaved and their houses burned!!:uhoh3: It seems no amount of education is helping. I think it would upset them less if we had an outbreak of bubonic plague! :lol2:

Maybe you can start slapping on the Hellman's and shower caps to keep things quiet?

We have instructed them to use olive oil when they overuse the OTC pesticide treatments-smothers the little buggers and leaves the hair nice and shiny!
