:balloons: :balloons: Hello all! I have posted a couple other threads as I was on the journey to licensure this year and have gone through it all and made it. I took my boards on the 13th and passed. I was alittle apprehensive to get out on the job hunt but very wonderfully surprised. I am in Fla and was hired at the first place I went for a base pay of 16.50(1$ differential for 3-11 and 2$ differential for weekends) I think this is pretty good after reading other posts on wages around the country. not only was I hired before filling out the app when i got home hospice called me from a resume I posted on line last night. What an experience. I was wondering though if anyone who has worked LTC has any pointers on how to enter the position and make the transition that I am from patient care tech to nurse. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am a newer LVN, but can offer some advice that has helped in LTC.
It is important that you walk and talk with confidence. If your body language conveys any signs of weakness, coworkers and patients will walk over you like a doormat. Always ask questions if you don't know. Manage your time very well and try to get as much accomplished as possible during the early part of your shift. Listen to your CNAs since they spend more time with the patients. Good luck and stick to it.
