Yale MSN 2019

Hello nurses!

I was was hoping to find others who also applied for the MSN program at Yale School of Nursing this year.

I have 3 years of nursing experience under my belt, 1 year at Hartford Hospital and 2 years at Brigham and Women's Hospital. I went to Northeastern University and had an average GPA. I did alright on the GREs. I spent a lot of time on my essay and hope that the school sees why I want to return to school.

The deadline for the MSN program was Nov 1. I submitted mine on Oct 31. I didn't get a confirmation email from the school if they received all the parts to my application. I know it's soon but I'm really anxious. Just looking to see if there are other applicants out there that can commiserate with me or if anyone has any insight about my chances of getting in! It's also frustrating that any information I find online is about the GEPN program. Even the information session I attended seemed like it was really geared to non-nurses applying to the GEPN program. When I asked, I was told that there is a mix of RNs and non RNs but when shuffling through allnurses, it seems like there are way more spots for non RNs.

I think we’ll hear on Tuesday. That seems like the trend. It’s unlikely they’ll send out decisions on a Friday. That’s just my guess! But I hope I’m wrong and we do hear today

I just emailed Sandra and she said they would be releasing decisions “beginning of March.”

Did anyone else hear something different from her or another representative from Yale?

The GEPNs have to commit by today so I was hoping we would find out. Their admissions decisions were sent Jan 15th at 5pm. Our admission status has nothing to do with the incoming GEPns acceptance. I was just hoping maybe the dates coincided ?

The not knowing is what is bothering me. It would be a huge financial decision. Especially since my other school is half as much $$.

Hang in there! Fingers crossed!

My interviewer said that we should know by the end of February. I guess they pushed it back.

Yes, the not knowing part is definitely the worst part of it... Good luck to everyone!!

When did you interview? Yes, they must have. I was hoping that she just told me that to stop the inquiries..Lol.. Wishful thinking, I suppose..

Same day as mine-I was just wondering if it was recent, but a lot must have happened since then to make them push the date back..

In Sandy’s emails, the interviews were 1/22 to 2/1

Anyone hear anything yet?
