Anyone starting arts 1213 tomorrow?

Featured Replies

Not arts, but I'm in intro to sociology.

How is intro to sociology so far? I hope to take it in the fall.

WOSC Intro to Soc, is a breeze so far. Only 4 weeks long, very straight forward, papers are like 2 pages, quizzes aren't bad either.

Is anyone concerned that the college is on probation and our 4 week classes won't be accepted?

Msteeleart,

Are you enrolled in a 4th 4 week class?

No, but I have 3 classes I need and I was hoping to do them there.

I don't understand why they are saying the classes weren't intense enough because another person on this forum did the 10 day classes and she said they were intense.

I took cultural anthro when it was a 10 day course. It was anything but minimal time and effort. I couldn't score higher than a high 70 on the tests and there were a lot of discussions and papers. All I kept thinking about was the athletes that said they were taking the class to boost their GPA and I was killing myself and struggling. I did get an A but it was not easy. I read every word of the text and watched every video for the class. If the athletes though those classes were easy, they must have known some secret that I didn't because I worked as hard in that class as I did in the nursing classes. I often wonder how the athletes in my class ended up doing. Maybe those 19 year old brains work better than this old AARP eligible brain;-)

Why would you not think your 4 week class would not be accepted? Just because a college is on probation doesn't mean they won't accept the class. Now if they had lost their accreditation that would be another story Also University Of Phoenix, which Is one of the biggest 'for profit' online schools might be place on probation also. http://chronicle.com/article/U-of-Phoenix-Expects/137565/

I took 2 classes their last December in the 10 day intercession and busted my butt doing so. Labor intensive to say the least!

Here is what is on their website which is why I am questioning whether OU will accept the transfer.

What if I am already enrolled in a 4 week online course for this semester? Will I be able to take my course?

Important information for all 4th 4 week PRE-ENROLLED students:

Please be advised of the following as it relates to your pre-enrolled 4th 4 week online course status.

  1. As an accredited institution of higher education all Western courses, in any format, are transferrable to your host institution.
  2. Concurrent enrolled high school students may continue in the 4th 4 week course session of the Spring 2013 semester if they were pre-enrolled.
  3. All other 4th 4 week pre-enrolled students may opt out of the course and are encouraged to enroll in a summer session course.
  4. Those pre- enrolled non-concurrent students who opt to continue in the 4th 4 week course are strongly advised to check with your host institution to verify acceptance of the course.
  5. Any pre-enrolled student who decides to withdraw from the course will receive a full-refund of the course fee.

If your advisor said it would be accepted I would not worry about it.
