Working Permit question

hi guys,

my foreign grauate nurse friend (active RN license in FLorida) plans to apply for Endorsement in Chicago, Illinois.

Crediatial Evaulation Service (CES) Report from CGFNS Evaluation Agency is a requirement for Endorsement Application. and it will take 1 to 2 months for CGFNS to send the CES Report to Illinois BON office.

Can he be given a temporary working permit to work in Chicago, Illinois while his Endorsement Application requirement is still not complete ?

IL no longer has temp licenses. You need to get your license in order to work.

my friend's issue is about aquiring a working permit while waiting for the completion of requirements for Endorsment application

is a working permit the same as temporary license?

No, they are different. I think you might want to post in the International Forum for more immigration-related questions.

Please be aware though that unemployment for new nurses in IL is VERY VERY high - highly doubt that your friend is going to get hired over US grad as plenty of them are waiting in line for jobs.
