Hi there! I do have a friend who is now in LA for a vacation, she already passed the NCLEX , IELTS certificate and do have a Visa Screening Certificate. She told me she will be applying for a Working permit or working visa (is these 2 the same). Is this really possible? She just got in LA a month ago, and talked to some lawyers that on October there might be an opening for visas. What can you say about this guys?
*she's from the Philippines

even though she passed all the exams needed, there is still no assurance one can get an working permit or visa. for sure she is on a tourist visa , and if thats the case she is violating the immigration rules for going there on a dual purpose not solely for vacation. if an immigration officer caught her she may be deported back to philippines.
things may not be that easy as what others may think , its better to wait than to be sorry.:)
i know she might be caught by the immigration, but she said she talked to some lawyers and they said she will have to wait for 60 days to be filed for a working visa. do you know about this? is this true? will it really help if there's going to have an opening for visas this october? (im not sure about this gossip but the lawyers told this to her)...

Just can not be done, to adjust status visas need to be current and looking at possible prediction when visas are released in October the processing date will be early 2006 although looking at Mumbai it is going to be 2005. Your friend will need to return home and wait
