I need some faith! How many of you have worked FT and gone to school? Is it manageable? What did you sacrifice?
I know RN programs discourage working but I don't really have a choice, I've got bills! Haha. From the looks of it (aside from no social life, as if it's active anyway lol) I'll be cutting down my sleep one day a week from my regular 6-8hours to 5-6.
I mapped out my work and class schedule so on paper it looks manageable but we shall see how the body adapts. It's a small sacrifice for a temporary time you know.

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes, joannavn! It is manageable!
I worked full time in CD tx as an LPN while going for my RN. I was married with no children, however.
Well, married for 3/4 of the program. It takes its toll.
Good luck and best wishes to you, joannavn!

I work full time but three of my shifts are sleeping shifts. There are several students in my class that do work a full 40 hours though. Most of them do it all on the weekend between Fri and Sun, others go to work after class on our short days (only 9 to 12). The biggest problem I think is finding work that you can fit around school hours. It is certainly possible to work full time and pass nursing school.

The thing that will be challenging is trying to find hours to study after attending class, clincals, and working a full time job. Students get to all the things they need to do hour-wise but find succeeding on exams difficult because they don't have time to study. Good luck!

Yes, it's absolutely manageable. I worked FT during school. I did have a flexible boss that worked with my schedule during clinical. My wife and I went to nursing school together (she was a semester ahead of me) and we had 2 more kids while in school. It was chaotic for a while but well worth the effort. Life happens - focus on the goal and make it work.
