Working abroad remotely

Nurses General Nursing

Hi,

My family is talking about moving to New Zealand.  I currently hold a Washington State RN license.  I was looking into working remotely through a U.S. based company.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  How does it work keeping your license through your state?  Just starting to explore options.

Alternatively, I am looking into getting registered in New Zealand.  I currently work as a Stroke Program Manager and am a Stroke Certified Register Nurse.  I really enjoy specializing in neurovascular nursing, but am skeptical that I would be able to find a job over there that would be similar.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you.

NZ is 19 hours ahead of WA.  So at 0800 Tuesday WA time it would be 0300 Wednesday in NZ.  I guess it would be doable to work remotely if you didn't work days, or didn't mind getting up in the middle of the night.  I'm just not after how many companies would be willing to work with you...?.  I think I would be googling to see what I had to do to work as a RN in NZ.  As long as your state doesn't care if you have a license through them and don't actually live there it shouldn't be a problem to keep your license.

Hi there! I've been doing bedside nursing for awhile now and I feel the need to branch out and try something new. I was curious as to was type of remote nursing you do.

I was also looking at New Zealand as a new place to live but have just begun my research.

Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read my comment
