I'm an lpn in the Caribbean with 3yrs experience. How do I go about working in the US and getting my license? Help anyone. Thanks in advance

You would have to contact the BON in the state in which you wanted to work. They would instruct you on how to apply for a license. If you meet their requirements you would be able to write the NCLEX-PN.You would need to have a Green Card in order to work and due to retrogression that will take about 6 years and you have to find an employer willing to wait that long.

Thanks, SD. That crossed my mind but I wasn't sure.

LPN will not in most cases meet immigration requirements minimum is usually BSN

Wats a 'BON'? And what if I've got a visitors visa, can't I get thru immigration with that?

BON = Board of Nursing, each state has their own.

You can visit the country with a visitor's visa. You can't stay. You won't be allowed to work due to not having a social security number. It's illegal and not advised to try this.

Also working as an LPN requires licensing that you would not be able to obtain.
