Work during Nursing School

Hey guys. So I am starting my pre-nursing school this fall and I'll be earning my RN associates degree. I was wondering about working during school. Unfortunately I do need to work, but I was wondering if I should do 3 12's or stick to 4 8's. (Out of 7 days) I figured 3 12's would be best so I have an extra day off for class and to study. I'm aware that when clinicals start, I won't be able to work very much. But I was wondering until then what some of your opinions are. :) thanks!

I'm in school full time for my FNP. I tried working 3 12s and was just EXHAUSTED. I currently work four 8 hour shifts a week and have been very happy. I try to pick up as many weekends I can so my week I can focus on clinicals, exams and school work. You just gotta find what works for you. Best of luck

I start my nursing program in the fall. I have to work full-time (single mom). Currently I work overnight with a 7on/7off schedule which I'm hoping will make things run smoothly when it comes to studying, clinicals, etc. Good Luck!!!

Seek out people who worked full-time and were successful at completing nursing school. If you can be ultra disciplined, focused, and use their tips I believe you can do it.
